Message	are a couple of things to try: Jack up the trans and see if that creates that extra distance you need to remove the driveshaft. If that doesn't work, try the same thing with the differential and see if that allows you to remove the driveshaft. Last try would be to jack up both the trans and diff to see if that creates that 1/2" you need. Good luck.
